Ooey Gooey Messy Burgers

Oh yes, I did.

I made these bad boys and it brought back my childhood with each ooey gooey bite I took!

You might notice I haven’t added the parmesan fries recipe along with this tonight, it’ll be up Monday!

Sloppy Joe’s

Serves 6

1 ½ lbs ground beef

3 stalks of celery, chopped

1 large onion, chopped

1 12 oz. can of tomato sauce

½ cup ketchup

½ cup BBQ sauce

1 ½ tbsp Worcestershire sauce

1 ½ tbsp vinegar

1 ½ tbsp firmly packed brown sugar

1 tsp mustard

2 tsp cumin powder

S&P to taste (1 – ½ tbsp)

Hamburger buns

In a large skillet brown the beef with celery and onions. Once the meat has been browned, drain the excess fat. Then stir in the remaining ingredients.

Cover and simmer for 15-20 minutes, stir occasionally.

If it’s a bit too runny for your liking, uncover the skillet for about 5 minutes to let the moisture evaporate and cook until you get the consistency you want.

Pour a heaping amount over a toasted hamburger bun and eat your little heart out!

It’s the only time I’ve been able to eat messy in front of the doc!
